Imagine a scene opens with an artist performing in an abandoned shopping mall, parking lot, or town square. Or cutting out of an intense/quiet moment in the characters life to an artist playing in the midst of lunch rush at a Dairy Queen. The goal is that music, spoken word, and poetry will drive the visual narrative.

We'll capture artists performing in visually striking places, sometimes cutting to performance, sometimes using the performances as the soundtrack to the life and experience of the characters in the episode.

These performances provide an emotional touchstone for each episode, allowing viewers a breath from the sometimes intense emotional content, or deepening the understanding of the emotional world of a character who can't quite articulate as much.

We will choose artists based on their connection to the community and hope to find artists that embody the ethos of the place. Artists can range from well known pop icons like Pharrell Williams to unknown singer song-writers from the community.
